"I’m still on a high from The Big YES. Thank you so much for creating such a sacred creative space there. You have an incredible gift for inspiring artists to lead their best creative lives. Our time together buoyed me as I pour my heart and life into my creative work."

- Shay Grabowski

"Things have been turbo-boosted into major epic mode. I launched my project Up For Fun Aerobatics to the world (aka social media) on Friday. I had to teach myself how to make a FB page, and it is not done yet, but done enough to roll it out in just one day. https://www.facebook.com/UpForFunAerobatics

I had my logo turned into a banner that I had on display at Tracy Airport Day last Saturday, flew for the crowd, announced my coach's flight to the crowd, made up stickers, had people sign up for a mailing list, and was interviewed by the press. I will be the keynote speaker for the Stanislaus County Commission for Women at the end of the month.

I repeated, like a mantra, "Beth, just get a 'C'" at least 100 times last week.

The Big Yes was truly transformative, as promised. My heart is still so full when I think of how privileged and lucky I feel to have been part of it."

- Beth Stanton

"oh sam, you did it again ! i don’t consider myself to be a ‘creative’ because i do math for a living, but listening to you is always really inspiring — and no kidding, your 10 rules are true and they pay off when you work them. i’m lucky enough to love what i do and make a good living from it, and your rules feel like the lessons i learned starting my own business thirteen years ago. just wanted to take a moment and encourage you to keep sharing your love, we can feel it, and it matters. (and, sistah! you have really beautiful skin ;-} )"

- Tammy

"I want to take this opportunity to let you know how much I enjoyed The Big Yes. In fact, saying I enjoyed it doesn't do it justice. It was one of the most amazing and profound experiences of my life and I have led a relatively full life so far. I didn't really know what to expect but had I had time to articulate it (given that I didn't book the conference until two days before it started), I never would have imagined how incredible and magnificent an experience it really was. I made wonderful new friends, learned so much, came home with a definite plan and for essentially the first time in my life, felt truly understood in a way I have never before. I can't tell you how many times I had to hold back tears because I realized I was with people just like me, people I thought didn't exist. I spent most of yesterday talking my husband's ear off about the extraordinary weekend and my dreams and plans for my painting. I am excited beyond belief and so very grateful."

- Elisabeth Hoffman

"You always manage to infuse my faith in what my inner self is yearning to create, and adjust my perspective from overwhelm to ease."

- Julie Long

"Even though I feel a bit crazy with all that's going on, I feel deeply happy as well. My friends have noticed....I think it's because I'm finally busting my ass for myself instead of someone else. So can I just say, again...THANK YOU!! For your joo-joo, hand holding, and advice."

- Sayward Henry

"Hi Sam!

I'm really loving the Get it done workshop! I'm feeling more motivated and excited than I have in a long time and I'm actually getting work done on my dissertation! I'm also really exited about coming to the Big Yes! I have so many ideas brewing!

I did want to see if there was any way to connect with other attendees? I'm trying to keep my costs down and wanted to see if anyone else might be interested in rooming together. I wasn't sure if there was a special forum or some way to post a request, so any suggestions would be much appreciated!"

Thanks again!

- Nicky Smolter

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs Related to The Get It Done Workshop & The Big Big Yes 3-Day Retreat

What should my project be? I've got a lot of ideas and no idea where to start...

That's OK! Our whole first session is dedicated to helping you discern which of your 37 great ideas is the perfect one for you right now.

What have other Get It Done Alumni accomplished?

  • Started own business and made over $5,000 in the first month!
  • Decluttered entire house
  • Wrote draft of memoir (in just six weeks!)
  • Got private pilot's license
  • Conquered fear and took first steps towards an acting career
  • Started writing poetry again after 20 years
  • Created text and drawings for children's book
  • Completed complicated legal procedure
  • Obtained meeting with Academy Award-winning director
  • Created a workable (even lovable!) diet and exercise regime
  • Devised a year-long creative/business action plan
  • Mounted one-person show - yes - the whole show - in just six weeks!
  • Created demo cd of traditional Gaelic music
  • Found "dream" job
  • Established good writing habits, wrote three short stories
  • Determined true goals (beyond materialistic goals)
  • Completed show bible and first draft of cartoon pilot
  • Purposeful introspection led to life-changing insights
  • Made a phone call**

**Don't laugh - we've all done it - that phone call that you want to make and then too much time goes by and you feel like you can't but you know you must... And, BTW, once the participant made that call, the participant's career took off like a rocket in a totally new and exciting direction. (So, what phone call do you need to make today?)

Do I really need a class? I should be able to do this all by myself...

Well, you will do it by yourself, but there's no reason you can't enjoy a little expert guidance and darling-I've-been-there help along the way.

It's amazing how much having the structure of a workshop, the support of a community and the help of me, Your Friendly Trail Guide, can help in getting your projects moving.

What qualifies you to be a Creativity/Productivity Expert?

Well, let's see....I've more than doubled my business every year since 2009 and now run a mid-six-figure business pretty much all by myself from my home and I still have plenty of time for family, friends, rest, relaxation, reading and travel.

In the last year or so:

  • I had my first book published by New World Library, "Get It Done: From Procrastination to Creative Genius in 15 Minutes a Day" and it's a bestseller!
  • I took another 6-hour exam to re-certify myself as an Infusionsoft Certified Partner (that means I’m kind of a small-business marketing expert)
  • I’ve been asked to keynote for such luminaries as David Neagle, Tyler Garns, ICON15 and groups like eWomen Network, the Assoc. of Independent Information Professionals
  • I overcame a significant health crisis
  • I still live in my perfect little surf town and get to take a beach walk every day.

And in the past few years I have made over $5,000 self-publishing 3 books on my own, including the remarkably popular book of poems, "By The Way, You Look Really Great Today." I've also written the "book" to a musical with Academy-Award winner Al Kasha & the so-brilliant-it's-kind-of-annoying Phil Swann.

So, I know about creative productivity from my own life, but I also know about it through the lives of my hundreds of successful clients and students.

I've been teaching the Get It Done Workshop for over 15 years now, and it's still fascinating to me.

I can honestly say that 99.99% of the people who've been through the program absolutely ADORE it. Many of them choose to repeat it. Some people have taken the class three or four times.

Try it for yourself and see if it works for you.

What if I don't like it?

Just let me know before the start of our third session on April 19, 2015 and I will cheerfully refund your tuition. No reason needed. No questions asked. No worries.

How do you work?

I have some mind-blowing methods by which you can figure out your perfect, specific path to success.

There are exercises, games, imagination-eering and worksheets all designed to help you access your own inner wisdom.

There's weekly accountability, the inspiration from the group, the ability to ask me questions (either on the live sessions or you can email me before, during or after) and a generous educational structure --- all set you up to succeed.

What if I can't be on the sessions live?

Usually only about 50% of the people enrolled in the Get It Done Workshop are there live and it's fine - the others just watch the recording when they can and email me if they have any questions.

OK, Sam...what's the story with "The Big Big Yes: How To Overcome Procrastination, Perfectionism and Self-Doubt and Make $10,000 (or More!) from Your Creativity" Retreat?

I am so excited about this I'm about to swoon.

We're all meeting at a GORGEOUS hotel on July 9-12, 2015. (And I've negotiated a very reasonable room rate for you!) A ticket to the event is $3,500, but if you join the Get It Done Workshop, you get your ticket for FREE!

For 3 whole days we're going to use my most cutting-edge techniques to get right to the heart of what might have been holding you back and then uncover the unique rocket fuel that's going to launch you forward in a whole new way. You're going to be impressed.

And this is no pitch-fest. I will be leading the bulk of the training myself along with a few trusted colleagues, and while there will certainly be opportunities for you to buy things if you want, there will be zero high-pressure sales pitches.

The Big Big Yes Retreat is about us gathering together to

  • break through old patterns
  • have fun & make new friends
  • plot your route to new & brilliant successes

What if I can't be in LA for The Big BIG Yes Retreat?

Of course I want everyone to be there because it's going to be completely amaze-balls. (Really - this Retreat is full-on creative prosperity breakthrough time: we're going to make your creativity PROFITABLE. Bring kleenex.)

But if you really can't be there, The Get It Done Workshop alone is still a great bargain.

Plus you're still getting:

  • 2 Bonus Q&A Sessions so all your questions get answered
  • Monthly Q&A Coaching Sessions with the 365 Club for a FULL YEAR
  • The near-legendary "How to Make $1000" pre-recorded webinar (so you can make back your investment immediately)

And anything else I can think of to support you.

And again, if after the second session of Get It Done you don't feel like the training is for you, just let me know before our 3rd session on April 9th and we'll either figure out a way to fix it or get you a refund. No worries.

What kind of artists do you work with? I'm not sure if I qualify...

I think everyone is a creative genius in some way or other, so as far as I'm concerned, everyone is welcome in this training.

That said, there are usually quite a few writers, musicians and other performing artists as well as painters, teachers, textile designers, dancers, quilters, singers, graphic artists, interior designers, stylists, jewelry designers, sculptors, social media specialists, poets, healers, energy workers, improvisors, directors, comic book creators, performance artists, composers, and all kinds of other free-thinkers, outside-of-the-box-ers and artsy types.

There are usually a few entrepreneurs and civilians, too, just for good measure.

What if I can't afford it?

The price of the work is the price of the work; there are no discounts or scholarships available. But I never want anyone to NOT do this work just because of the money.

So if you'd like to arrange a special payment plan, please just contact the office at Admin@TheOrganizedArtistCompany.com and let's see what we can work out.

How much personal attention will I get in the Get It Done Workshop?

Lots.

There is always time set aside for questions, check-ins and announcements. Additionally, the Bonus Q&A Calls and 365 Club Sessions allow you to ask me any question live or via email.

What if some of my ideas are still in the “confidential” stage?

While the participants are each asked to honor the confidentiality of the group, and I've never had this be a problem, I can't promise anything, so please use your own best judgment.

I really want to do this, but I don’t have the time/money right now.

Here's the thing: if you're going to change how you work in the world, that's a project. And projects require both money and time.

(In other words: show me your datebook & your checkbook and I'll tell you what's important to you.)

And it's not like if you don't spend the money with me you will magically have an extra thousand bucks at the end of the year, right? I mean, you're going to spend the money on something.

So the "gut check" question for you is this: are you ready to make this commitment to yourself and your work right now?

  • If the answer is YES, then great - and if you need help with a special payment plan or something then just contact me and we'll work something out.
  • If the answer is NOT YET, then fine - file this all away under "to do later" and maybe start a penny jar to save up for next time.

And if the answer is NO, then good - be at peace knowing this isn't the right thing for you right now, and maybe we'll work together later on.

Can I see your work in action?

Of course! Check out this content-packed "preview" webinar that you can now watch, listen or download

Why You Procrastinate On The Important Stuff and What To Do About It

I'm not sure if your stuff is right for me - can we discuss it?

Of course. Just call my cell at (805) 881-3699 during business hours (Pacific Time) or feel free to email me and I or a member of my team will get right back to you.

Remember: The World Needs Your Art.

Here’s the Details of the Deal:

(Remember: all sessions are recorded and available for download anytime)

Session One: Clarifying Your Goals

Thursday, March 26 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
This is one VERY action-packed session – you might want to listen to it twice, once just to kind of soak it in and a second time with worksheets and pencils in hand.

Session Two: Your Personalized Project Plan

Thursday, April 2 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
In which I introduce you to some of my favorite tools for moving forward. I created these tools because while there are lots of good business-type books out there, let’s face it – we don’t care who’s moved our cheese. What the creative person needs is a practical way to manage our often impractical lives. Here it is.

Session Three: Breaking Through Internal Barriers to Success

Thursday, April 9 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
The deep honesty in this session is really uplifting. You can actually hear the sound of people breaking through their old stories and moving into a new way of being.

Session Four: Self-Promotion For Us Sensitive, Creative Types

Thursday, April 16 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
Everyone feels self-conscious sometimes, and it can be hard to accept praise. Figuring out how to talk about you and your work honestly cuts right through any anxiety about sounding “sales-y” or arrogant. I’ve spent 15 years working as a Personal Branding Specialist, so this is really a “zone of genius” for me. Love this stuff.

Bonus: 365 Club Session

Thursday, April 16 at 11:45am PT/2:45pm ET/7:45pm GMT/5:45pm (+1 day) AEST
New tools & inspiration from Sam plus intimate, small group coaching.

Session Five: Teaching Our Shadows Grace

Thursday, April 23 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
Another deep session featuring an astonishingly simple tool that can demolish destructive, self-limiting thoughts in an instant.

Session Six: The Beginning Of Wisdom

Thursday, April 30 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT/4pm (+1 day) AEST
We don’t slack off on this final session – the amazing results just keep rolling in. You’ll find clarity, motivation and new commitment to your dreams.
